This is a illustration I painted yesterday for my new promotional postcard. Also, my first illustration done completely in Photoshop. I normally work traditionally in watercolors then work some digital elements in on top of my final watercolor paintings. For this piece I really wanted to try my hand at painting only in Photoshop. I was sort of learning as I went along, but I’m pretty happy with the results. I almost didn’t finish, because I didn’t think I could really paint in Photoshop. I’m glad I stuck it out and at least tried. I’m sure with more practice I’ll get tighter with the techniques and rendering things a little faster.

I have another illustration I had sketched out from last year. I had always considered doing digitally. I’ll definitely keep practicing cause I really do love the look of creating textures in Photoshop.
Thank you so much, Leen. It was a real learning experience, but I had fun seeing it take shape as I continued working.
